Actualytix is a Singapore based company specialised in providing actuarial and analytics services and solutions with a special focus on General/P&C (re)insurance industry.
Our motivation to provide actuarial and analytics services and solutions came from frustrations and difficulties we have encountered with service/solution providers in the past. For example, we have seen Reinsurance Treaty pricing tools in the market with limited functionality adding little value to end users. To make matters worse, some of these pricing tools unnecessarily embed heavyweight commercial stochastic modelling engines making them prohibitively expensive and harder to use. Why do you need a sledgehammer to crack a nut?
We strongly believe clients deserve cost effective better services, solutions and tools that provide real tangible benefits to them. We have fully utilised more than two decades of Reinsurance and IT industry experience and expertise in providing services, solutions and developing applications and tools.
We always explore opportunities to set up strategic partnerships with other like-minded companies. With such partnerships we aim to bring in expertise from other areas to compliment our services and solutions in order to provide our clients with the best quality services they deserve.
Saliya has more than 25 years of professional experience. He has more than 15 years of experience in the General (P&C) Insurance/Reinsurance industry performing analytics, predictive modelling, economic capital model development, risk management, catastrophe risk modelling and actuarial pricing.
He has worked in multinational Reinsurance broking and Reinsurance companies. His roles ranged from Analyst/Senior Analyst, Director/Senior Director to Head of Analytics. He has provided leadership in the application of analytical capabilities to meet clients’ strategic reinsurance and capital business objectives, led development and innovation of analytics services, and been heavily involved in business development.
In his previous life, he worked as an IT professional for more than 10 years designing and developing large-scale software applications in Banking and Finance, Telecom, and Insurance industries. He was instrumental in providing strategic direction in selecting technologies, providing leadership and mentoring teams, and successfully completing projects from initial concepts to implementation.
He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (First class honours) from Monash University, Australia and a Master’s degree in Actuarial Science from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He is an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries Australia.
